I feel that these corporate behaviours, come as a result of badly though out ‘cookie-cutter’ product strategies delegated by head offices with no real undertanding of the market. Is anybody else in Cyprus behaving the same way?

These behaviours arise from heavily litigated societies where Terms and Conditions can basically get away with anything. I would be curious to find out if there have been cases tried in Cyprus for people in the same shoes, who chose not to pay. If MTN has been succesful, I wouldn’t be suprised if other companies followed in their footsteps. This would be a real shame as I consider Cyprus business to be more human/personal/open than some of their International counterparts.

It stupid, its kind of like trying to charge someone for 20x 56k modems because they got a 1 mbit adsl line.

I’m suprised that networks around the world are behaving in the way you mention, almost as if they are rejecting established trends in consumer markets.

There is clearly an increasing demand in mobile data. If im not mistaken, Gartner predicts that by 2015 global mobile data usage will be 26x what it is now, and will account for more internet traffic than our computers at home.

Surely, if you are a telecom looking to survive, you’d be looking to capture this emerging market and retain those customers..

So… who wants to start a data based telecom?
